Paper bags

Quietly engineered to do their job.

A paper bag is a small object asked to do a lot and carry real weight, survive a journey, look intentional on a shelf, and be made from materials that don't outlast the moment.

How the bag is made

Five decisions that decide whether the bag works.

Here is how we approach each part of the bag, from the paper we start with through to the lining that sits against the goods inside.

Paper

Stock selection drives everything.

Lightweight kraft, virgin and recycled white, and heavier coated stocks. The right paper weight depends on what's going inside. A bottle of wine and a baker's loaf ask for different things.

Handles

Twisted, flat, ribbon, rope.

Twisted paper handles for everyday retail; flat ribbon for clean printed canvases; rope handles for premium gift presentation. All reinforced where they meet the bag mouth so they actually survive a full carry.

Base

Flat bottom or square bottom.

Flat bottom sacks stand up unaided, the right call for bakery, deli, takeaway. Square bottom carriers fold flat for shipping and open out to a stable footprint at the till.

Print

Single colour to four colour process.

Most retail work is one or two clean spot colours. For full colour artwork we run four colour process on coated stocks. Foil stamping and embossing are available for premium small runs.

Lining

Food safe and grease resistant options.

For food service we add greaseproof or wax coated linings sized to the bag's interior. Window cutouts available on most flat bottom formats.
